The Wildcare Nature Writing Prize 2016 is now open for entries from writers anywhere in the world. The competition is open to both fiction and non-fiction. Entries must be between 2,000, and 4,000 words.
The winning entrant will receive $5,000 with their story being published in Island magazine, and they can undertake an optional 2 week residency in a Tasmanian National Park. The entry fee is $20.
Entries must be a single piece of original, previously unpublished and unawarded prose (fiction or non-fiction) from 2,000 to 4,000 words written in English.
Entries should not be on offer to other publications or prizes or anthologies for the duration of the Wildcare Prize (May 2 – August 28, 2016).
The closing date for entries is midnight Monday 2 May 2016.
