The Somerset National Novella Writing Competition 2018

The Somerset National Novella Writing Competition is open to all Australian high school students. It is a wonderful opportunity for serious student writers, encouraging them in their literary growth - and there are also some fantastic prizes on offer!

As a part of the 2018 Somerset Celebration of Literature, school-aged students are invited to participate in the Somerset National Novella Writing Competition supported by Penguin Group.

The length of Novella should be no less than 8,000 words and no more than 20,000 words. There is a $20 entry fee.

Entrants must be under 19 years of age as at date of close of entries on 1 December 2017, 5pm.
