The 2017 Somerset National Novella Writing Competition

The Somerset National Novella Writing Competition is open to all Australian high school students. It is a wonderful opportunity for serious student writers, encouraging them in their literary growth - and there are also some fantastic prizes on offer!

As a part of the 2017 Somerset Celebration of Literature, school-aged students are invited to participate in the Somerset National Novella Writing Competition supported by Bond University and Penguin Group.

The length of the novella should be no less than 8,000 words and no longer than 20,000 words.There is an entry fee of $20.

Monetary prizes will be awarded to all State winners and one prize of $2,500 will be awarded to the National winner.

If you have a novella that's bursting to be recognized, submit before the deadline: 2 December 2016 at 5pm.
