Resources for Book Chat groups

Found in: News

Book Chat groups are becoming an increasingly popular way for readers to find their next great read.  These are book discussion groups where the members read any book of their own choice, write a brief review, then meet up to share information with other keen readers. Book Chat groups tend to be informal, very social and lots of fun.

If you are a member of a Book Chat group then writingWA can help you to find excellent Western Australian books to read and share.

  • Have a look at the archive of Books & Reviews page of the writingWA website here.  We add several new reviews and one set of Book Club Notes every month.
  • Subscribe to the Love to Read Local e-newsletter here for a monthly update on new Western Australian publications.
  • Watch the Cover to Cover author interviews and maybe even discover your new favourite author!  In addition to discussing their own books all the interviewed authors share a recommendation for a book by another Western Australian author.  We add a new Cover to Cover interview each month.

If there isn't a Book Chat group already meeting in your area then why not set one up?  Enquire at your local public library, Community Resource Centre. or favourite cafe to see if they could provide a venue. Get in touch to let us know and we'll help to spread the word to help you find members.

Happy reading!
