New CEO of Magabala Books

Found in: News

Anna Moulton has been appointed the new CEO of Magabala Books.

Moulton, who takes up the role on 10 April, replaces former CEO Michelle Broun, who left the position in October 2013. Former board member Tony Lee has been acting CEO since December last year.

Magabala said the appointment of Moulton followed a ‘nation-wide recruitment process’.

Moulton said she was ‘honoured and excited’ to have been appointed.

‘I have spent many years working with Indigenous people in the Kimberley, beginning at the Warmun Art Centre, with five years in Kununurra working with Miriuwaung Gajerrong implementing the Ord Final Agreement and most recently in Broome with the Indigenous women’s organisation Nagula Jarndu,’ she said.

‘Throughout this time I have admired Magabala and its renowned publications from afar. I look forward to working with the dedicated staff, board and all the loyal Magabala readers to preserve, develop and promote Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and stories.'
