Mslexia's Short & Flash Fiction Competitions - accepting submissions!

Every year Mslexia runs four competitions, open to women writers of all levels of experience. They are currently accepting submissions for their Flash Fiction and Short Story competitions.

Women's Short Fiction Competition - Flash Fiction

1st Prize: £500.

Three other finalists will each receive £50. All four winning stories will be published in the June issue of Mslexia.

They are so excited to announce the launch of the inaugural Mslexia Women’s Flash Fiction Competition, the newest addition to their competition roster and part of the new Women’s Short Fiction Competition. They wanted to introduce a category for those writers who prefer to keep their storytelling concise, to reflect the growing trend for short and concise storytelling.

The competition is open to women of any nationality from any country, and welcomes flash fiction of up to 300 words in length (not including the title). All genres welcome.There is a £5.00 entry fee.

Women's Short Fiction Competition - Short Story

1st Prize: £2,000

Plus two optional extras: a week’s writing retreat at Gladstone Library, and a day with an editor at Virago Press.
Three other finalists will each receive £100. All four winning stories will be published in the June issue of Mslexia.

Back for its 9th year, this competition is still as fabulous as always. The competition is open to women of any nationality from any country, and welcomes stories of between 300 and 3,000 words in length (not including the title). All genres welcome. There is a £10.00 entry fee.
