Koombana Days author Annie Boyd is heading north for author talks in Port Hedland, Broome, Derby and Karratha between 20 March and 3 April.
The elegant, ultra-modern S.S. Koombana arrived in Western Australia in March 1909. After only three years of Nor’-West service, the ship and her entire complement disappeared in a late-summer cyclone off the Pilbara coast. The vessel has never been found and the tragedy remains unexplained.
Annie Boyd is a wonderful storyteller. Her compelling delivery and extraordinary recall of the places, people and details of the time brings this tale to life.
