Kate Feilding Named One of the Sidney Myer Creative Fellows 2013

Ten of Australia’s most courageous and talented mid-career artists and thought leaders have been announced as the 2013 Sidney Myer Creative Fellows.

Announced annually, each Fellow is awarded an unrestricted grant of $160,000 over a two year period.

The Fellowships are awarded to artists and cultural thought leaders to “support reflection and encourage risk taking" and are awarded on the basis of outstanding talent and exceptional courage. As one of the ten, Fielding's Fellowship falls under the categories: 'thought leader; literature'.

Kate Fielding is based in Kalgoorlie, WA, is the Chair of Country Arts Western Australia, and the Vice-President of Regional Arts Australia. Her work has already seen her the receipient of several prestigious awards.
