Information for Public Libraries

Found in: News

writingWA encourages public libraries to make use of the following services to support writers and readers in their communities.

Support for Writers

Information pages for writers

These information pages will help writers — whether they are just discovering the thrill of writing or are an established professional — better understand the literary scene in Western Australia, Australia and internationally.

Literati database

Literati provides writers, illustrators, editors and others working in the writing sector with the opportunity to promote their specific skills and/or publications within a database that can be easily searched by prospective employers.

Resources for Book Clubs and Book Chat Groups

Book Reviews

On the last Tuesday of each month, The West Australian's Books pages include a column of book reviews provided by writingWA.  Following publication in The West, the reviews can then be found in our Reviews pages.

Book Club Notes

Each month we produce Book Club Notes for our featured Book of the Month.  The Book Club Notes are emailed out to subscribers to the Book Club Newsletter and published on our website. We also record an interview with the author of each featured book for our Cover to Cover TV show.

Love to Read Local e-newsletter

Love to Read Local is writingWA's free monthly e-newsletter with reviews and listings of new WA publications.

Promoting your events

You can use the news feeds on writingWA's two websites to promote events you are presenting.  Selected items from these feeds are also shared via our industry e-newsletter and social media feeds.

Use the "Submit a Post" facilities to send us information to share.
