Found in: News

STAGE ONE is an initiative of the Theatre Arts major or course at Curtin University. Now in its 6th year, STAGE ONE offers a Western Australian playwright the opportunity to write and premiere a new play and provides their undergraduate acting and technical students with the experience of working with a professional playwright on a new work. STAGE ONE are currently seeking a 1-page Expression of Interest from Western Australian playwrights interested in STAGE ONE 2017, to be produced in the Studio at the Blue Room Theatre (4th-9th December). It could be a new project or a play you’ve already written that has yet to be produced.

Your Expression of Interest should include:

  • A description of the ideas your play will explore
  • A description of your writing process (i.e., how you best like to work with actors and a director on a new work)
  • Any initial thoughts about casting and/or staging.

Your application should also include:

  • A 1-page CV of previous theatre/writing experience
  • A 5-page writing sample (either a past play or the play you’re proposing).

Expresisons of Interest are due 30 June 2017.
