Congratulations to WA creators whose work has been shortlisted in the  

prestigious Children's Book Council Book of the Year Awards.

 

In the Younger Readers category, Albany author Dianne Wolfer and Brian Simmonds have  

been shortlisted for Light Horse Boy (Fremantle Press), and Wolfer is  

also shortlisted in the Early Childhood category, this time with Karen  

Blair, for Granny Grommet and Me. Matt Ottley and Danny Parker appear  

in the Picture Book category for Parachute, while Mark Greenwood and  

Chris Nixon are shortlisted in the Eve Pownall Award for Non-Fiction,  

with Jandamarra (ill. Terry Denton) and Meet Captain Cook (text Rae  

Murdie), respectively.
