Submissions to the 2017 annual literary contests are currently being accepted until 15 March 2017.
They offer three $1,000-dollar first-place prizes for fiction, poetry and nonfiction. The judges for the 2017 literary contests are:
- Tobias Wolff Award for Fiction: John DuFresne, Judge
- 49th Parallel Award for Poetry: Robert Cording, Judge
- Annie Dillard Award for Creative Nonfiction: Julie Marie Wade, Judge
Winners of the 2017 contests will be notified in June 2017. Winning entries and many runners up will be published in the Spring 2018 print edition, Issue 76. Everyone who enters the competition will receive a copy of Issue 76.
International entries are $30 to cover increased shipping costs. An entry consists of one essay, one story, or up to three poems. Please limit prose to 6,000 words.
Please upload your entries via Submittable. Paper submissions will not be read, nor will they be returned, though they will be recycled.
