AWGIES Award now open for entries!

Found in: News

The 2017 Australian Writers’ Guild AWGIE Awards are now open for entries.

Every year the AWGIES celebrate performance writing at its best with writers from all fields vying for the highest honours on the Guild’s night of nights. With 2017 marking their 50th anniversary, this year's AWGIE Awards are set to be the biggest and best ever.

The AWGIE Awards are the only Australian stage, screen, radio and new media awards judged exclusively on the writer’s intention - the script - allowing the writer’s vision to shine and their craftsmanship to inspire.

The AWGIE Award categories this year include film, television, theatre, radio, interactive media, animation and documentary.

Monte Miller Awards – Long and Short Form
Due to the ever-increasing popularity of the Monte Miller Awards, in 2017 the Monte Miller Awards will be conducted separately to the AWGIE Awards and will be presented at their own dedicated event later in 2017.

Stay tuned for more information on the new Call for Entries date for the Montes and the Monte Miller Awards event!

This year, for the first time, all AWGIE Award entries can be completed online via the website. You will be able to download the Categories and Conditions of Entry from their website, and enter and pay online.

Submissions close Wednesday 8 March.
