The 2016 Rhonda Jankovic Literary Award is currently accepting entries on the theme of social justice. Entrants can submit either poetry or short stories.

Social justice relates to inequalities stemming from power relations, indifference or exploitation. It is associated with, for instance, economic conditions, political persecution, health, education, dis/ability, ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, age and violence. Award entries may identify inequalities by observation and/or advocate solutions.

Prizes are as follows:

  • First Prize (for each section): AUD$600 and a Radio 3CR Vintage Sound-Bite Cartridge Trophy
  • Second & Third Prizes (for each section): Certificates awarded for each section.
  • High Commended and/or Commended Certificates awarded at Judges' discretion.

A fee of AUD$5 applies to each item entered, which is not refundable under any circumstances. Submissions close 25 November 2016.
