About ProximityWA

Participate in Western Australia’s literary culture with ProximityWA.

ProximityWA enables you to discover the literary activities and events in proximity to you. Search by date or location to find information about Western Australia’s growing family of regional writers’ festivals, writing workshops and other literary activities.

Live streaming of selected festival events, writing workshops, author talks, and other similar events will also allow you to participate in these activities in real time regardless of your physical location, while an additional range of pre-recorded material will build into a unique archive of digital resources to support and encourage your writing practice.

Funding and Support

ProximityWA is a writingWA resource, enabled with funding provided by Lotterywest and with the support of writingWA’s Literary Lions

writingWA is principally funded by the State Government through the Department of Culture and the Arts, and by the Australia Council, the Federal Government’s arts funding and advisory body.

writingWA manages annually devolved funding from the State Government to provide support to regional writers festivals, writing groups and other literary activities.
